Sidney E. Semrad, D.O., FACOOG (Dist.)

Dr. Sidney Semrad received his D.O. degree at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Kirksville, Missouri in 1982 and served his internship and OBGYN residency training at Garden City Hospital, Garden City, Michigan.
Dr. Semrad is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Semrad specializes in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic surgery and cosmetic procedures and infertility. Dr. Semrad is one of a handful of physicians that has received extensive training on the Intuitive Da Vinci robot.
Over the past year, Dr. Semrad has been offering in-office hysteroscopies, endometrial ablations (Novasure or Her Option) and Essures (tubal ligation).
Dr. Semrad has also been trained in Botox and Restylane injections and offers free consultations to all patients.

Dawn Williams-Sanders, our nurse practitioner, has been practicing in women’s healthcare for over 23 years. She worked for the first 7 years as a registered nurse for Desert Samaritan Hospital in ante partum, post partum, and gynecological post operative care. Dawn then returned to school and achieved her certification as a Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner from the University of Phoenix. Prior to joining our practice, she worked at the Desert Women’s Wellness Clinic for 1 year. She has been with Southeast Valley Ob/Gyn for over 15 years.
Dawn enjoys caring for females from the age of 13 and older. Her knowledge encompasses the many aspects a woman encounters over the span of her lifetime. Dawn states that she; “likes to incorporate traditional and homeopathic treatment options for a complete approach to women’s healthcare.”
Dawn has attended many advanced courses on diabetes of pregnancy known as Gestational Diabetes. She can do preliminary counseling in our office until the patient can see a diabetic educator at the perinatology office. Dawn is available most days to see our OB patients if their doctor gets called out for a delivery thus avoiding having to reschedule an appointment. She enjoys assisting in their prenatal care.
During a woman’s reproductive years, Dawn can instruct and inform women about their fertility. She consults on infertility issues to help determine if a problem may exist. Then through the use of basal body temperature and menstrual cycle charting, Dawn can assist a woman in achieving/timing her pregnancy or avoid a pregnancy through natural family planning. Dawn is interested and informed about the effects that polycystic ovarian syndrome may have on women in their reproductive years and likes to teach women about the concerns that may occur from PCOS. She is trained in Mirena and Paraguard intrauterine device insertions. She is knowledgeable concerning all forms of birth control.
Dawn may be able to assist her clients going through the transitional time in life, perimenopause and menopause. Her knowledge encompasses bio-identical hormone replacement therapy as well as traditional hormones. She prescribes each type if applicable She understands the challenges of menopause and the changes that occur to a woman during this time.
